This is the line that scares me: "'I think in the next two to three years, we’ll have quite a few state-bred races,' Sinatra said."
If the trend continues, eventually all states will be racing state-bred races 90% of the time.
I disagree - it's free-market competition. But occasionally, tracks restrict races to reward those who meet their requirements. PA has yet to eclipse the NY or CA bred races...talk about a scary number. For all those who complain about them, they lend intrigue to the handicapper and provide benefits for the horsemen.
