Saturday's (8-16-08) 9-race Del Mar card is highlighted by the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks for 3yo grass fillies, and it is an interesting contest between Storm Mesa and Satan's Circus, but today's horse of the day can be found in race 7.
The aforementioned 7th race is an entry level Polytrack route for three-year-olds and up, and #6 BAD BOY (8-1) is today's Del Mar Horse du Jour.
BAD BOY is 1-20 lifetime, but that lone win occurred over the local synthetic surface last summer under today's pilot Victor Espinoza. He sprung back to life in solid show finish over the local weeds last time, and the versatile sort clearly owns the best last race speed rating and hardly meets the toughest entry level crew.
