Thursday's (8-28-08) 8-race Del Mar card features a Pick 6 Carryover of $473,943. The card also includes the $80k Adoration Handicap for fillies and mares traveling a flat mile over Polytrack, and #9 UNSPOKEN WORD (6-1) is my horse of the day.
UNSPOKEN WORD exits a wide 3rd in a needed local sprint, and Jerry Hollendorfer is 20% with horses making their 2nd start off a layoff. She is 0-3 over synthetic but all starts were in the stakes ranks, including bang-up place finish behind win machine Dearest Trickski in the Grade 1 7f La Brea.
Garrett Gomez sticks, and he is 30% with this barn. She can go at least this far and might get brave if able to sneak away early.

Day 37 Del Mar Horse du Jour Warren's Lady Slew (5-2) was expected to sit a great trip behind a contested pace, but she unexpectedly dueled (:21-4/5, :45-2/5) from the inside and weakened to 5th from her early efforts.
