The Friday program is headlined by the Buffalo Trace Franklin County for older fillies and mare sprinting five and a half furlongs on the turf course. A competitive field of nine has been assembled and you can reference our Race du Jour column for detailed analysis.

The 8th race immediately precedes the Franklin County and is the 2nd leg of the late Pick 4, which is available for $.50. The favorite will be #5 ACCREDIT, who hasn’t been out since an opening day victory at Saratoga where he wired the field and scored by almost five lengths. He has shown that he needs the lead to win but can be a major player stalking from second and his lone try over the Polytrack was sharp as he finished 2nd after being disqualified from the top spot. He’ll have some other speedsters to deal with in here, especially the gelding drawn immediately to his outside.

With two confirmed speedsters, along with #8 RADICAL FRINGE, one must try to find a legitimate off the pace possibility and that probably comes with a horse like #4 GEORGETOWN. In two career starts over Keeneland’s Polytrack, this guy has a win and a 2nd place finish both from off the pace. He is now going 3rd off a layoff and his last two races were not bad at all. Trainer Dallas Stewart has given him five weeks off since his last race and he’s worked three times on the dirt at Churchill Downs. If the pace develops as we believe it will, this guy will very clearly benefit. At 6-1, that seems like a decent gamble.

DAY 6 HORSE du JOUR: Race 8, #4 GEORGETOWN

DAY 5 RECAP: Devil Approved It somehow wound up on the lead in the 4th race on Thursday and tired in the stretch.

MEET TOTALS: 4: 0-2-0

Good luck
