And people wonder why racing is in trouble.
Graham Motion is as respected a trainer as there is in the business. If he has had any medication violations, they must be minor because I've never heard of any.
This isn't about Bill Mott either. Mott is as good as it gets, and he's had owners take horses away as well.
It's about ego-driven owners who apparently refuse to accept that racing and horses are cyclical. The sport is poorer for it.
I saw Adriano break his maiden at saratoga last summer. Graham does appear to be a class act. I guess he forgot to teach Adriano how to run on dirt as well as turf/poly!
Seriously, why do horses prefer one or the other sometimes? Hoof design, conformation, kickback, all of the above? It must be part "personal preference" because if it was purely physical you would think a trainer could always predict which they would run better on.
