Aqueduct is a turf course that favors early speed. In years past, betting my top early speed rating on turf has produced a very solid +50% ROI. This year, so far in a limited sample, the profit has been 5%, which to me means the nice price winners have yet to come.
Through Wednesday's races there have 11 turf events.
2 races have been won by horses on the lead after 4 furlongs, 4 by horses running 2nd after 4F.
9 of the 11 have been won by horses racing in the front half of the pack after 4F.
