It all sounds different once we finally hear people talking about it, eh?
What did you expect to hear?
I didn't expect the trainer of the horse to release a statement through the office of the jockey's attorney saying that the damage is only superficial and that she didn't lose an eye and the injury was not great enough to where her vision is impaired.
Were you expecting that following a six month suspension?
The statement was released prior to Wolfendale seeing the stewards head on view of the race. His view of the incident has changed.
I was expecting an apology, which came. Unfortunately, now its time to serve.
Last I checked, nothing in the statement referred to in the article had anything to do with Rose's ride, just the condition of the horse.
A sport with no rules and varying degrees of punishment depneding on who you are deserves his.
If Jeremy Rose is a chronic abusers of horses, then throw his ass out. If a trainer gets caught over and over and over again with medication violations, throw his ass out too.
Always a lot easier to get tough with the less educated and the less powerful, isn't it?
More good insight, Jim. Thanks for coming to the site. You lay it out how it is often, and I appreciate it.
Well, thanks Pat. I like it here, although letting people like me in might be a questionable call as well.
