40-1 seemed like a high price against this field...
Agree. I think this horse was overlooked on the win tote but was used quite a bit in the P3 pools. Music Note to a 40-1 shot with the last race returned only $360 for a $1. That's a heavy favorite losing in a 4-horse field, then the longest shot on the board, followed by a higher single-digits winner.
Absolutely. The exotics represented the spread more accurately than the win pool.
