I watched the TVG coverage from Tivo. The prices reflected a Soldier of Fortune 3rd place finish with It's Gino 4th. The $2 superfecta (16-1-6-9 $19,670) was huge compared to the Tri (16-1-6 $329.20). later, I read that 'Soldier and 'Gino dead heated for 3rd. did this get reconcled or did those who had It's Gino in their trifecta third spots get the shaft?
Interesting point, W-bird. Investigation time? Can you imagine if you had it and it didn't get corrected?
from DRF: "German invader It's Gino finished in an official deadheat for third with Soldier of Fortune but his owners at Stall 5 Stars have lodged an objection to that decision."
Great! now, not only did TVG shaft those who had It's Gino in the 3rd slot, but the owners think he may have actually finished ahead of "Soldier". what a mess and I seem to be the only one worked up about it....
I would be worked up about it. I saw something on another message board about it too. Press the pavement - write to DRF, TVG, and see what the response is. Come back and tell us what you find.
I'm asking around. My only theory is that nobody had the 16-1-9 Trifecta nor the 16-1-9-6 Superfecta, so maybe it defaulted to the # 6 in both “3rd spots”.

from the second post:
"I have confirmed that the North American payout was incorrect! Anyone who had a wager on Its Gino (9 horse) in their Tri's or superfecta's or to show, needs to contact their wagering establishment! I'm not sure about the US laws, but I believe in Canada, those who were paid into their wagering account, based on the incorrect payoff, will have the money removed once the pool is re-calculated."
Aparently, Arlington was the US hub and passed the "bad" result to TVG, who simply posted it.
I just received this email from a NYRA employee that I know, after he followed up on this issue:.
"Ok, long story short, the US hubs screwed up and had no idea that it was a dead heat for third until Monday morning. They are putting together a press release with info for the people that may have been affected. I know that, for example, there was a $1 tri ticket and a $0.10 super ticket that were placed with NYRA that were affected. We are going to have to try and track those people down, which we should be able to do."
