Our History
The Racing Dispatch started in December of 2006 as a way for a few diehard racing fans to spread their passion for thoroughbred horse racing. In less than 2 years it has expanded into an empire of blogs, stories, perspectives and more. The most comprehensive coverage from Dubai starts at The Dispatch, race-day blogs, handicapping, insight, profiles - it can all be found here. In 2007, The Racing Dispatch launched The Dispatch Derby Poll, the most comprehensive poll for America's greatest horse race.
The Team
Travis Stone - E-Mail Travis Travis Stone founded the Dispatch in November 2006. Track announcer at Louisiana Downs, Travis has participated in the All-Star Announcers Day the last two years during Breeders’ Cup week. A native of Schroon Lake, New York, Travis got his start following the races during summers at Saratoga. Travis maintains the day-to-day operations of the Dispatch and also blogs on a variety of topics surrounding the industry. Email Travis: tstone@racingdispatch.com
Pat Cummings - E-Mail Pat Pat has worked alongside Travis Stone since the launch of The Racing Dispatch. Pat led the Dispatch’s coverage at the 2007 Dubai World Cup and 2007 Breeders’ Cup at Monmouth Park, and will return to both events in 2008. Since 1999, Pat has called races at Philadelphia Park in the absence of regular announcer Keith Jones.
Nick Tammaro - E-Mail Pat Nick Tammaro has led The Racing Dispatch’s handicapping efforts. His well-received “Horse du Jour” features, selecting one horse per card at an entire meet, have led to positive ROI during its two editions, the 2007 Saratoga meeting and the 2007 Keeneland fall meeting. Nick’s Breeders’ Cup handicapping selections led to an 80% return. He also handicaps NYRA races for Capital OTB.
