Fair Grounds reaches agreement on ADW

by Frank Angst

Fair Grounds will be available for advance deposit wagering when the New Orleans track opens its meeting on Friday.

Officials of Fair Grounds owner Churchill Downs Inc. and representatives of the Louisiana Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association have reached an agreement on the distribution of live racing signals from Fair Grounds to several national advance-deposit-wagering platforms, including Twinspires.com, XpressBet.com, and Youbet.com

“We are pleased to come to terms with our Louisiana horsemen on an agreement that will allow the Fair Grounds signal to be shared with national ADW outlets,” said Austin Miller, president of Fair Grounds. “We are delighted to have Fair Grounds racing available on TwinSpires.com and other online wagering platforms, and we hope our customers enjoy wagering on this excellent product.”

The signal will not be available on Television Games Network.

“Since the inception of TwinSpires.com, we have supported open-content sharing among the national ADW companies,” said Kevin Flanery, senior vice president of Churchill Downs Inc. “We are pleased that racing fans will be able to wager on Fair Grounds’ upcoming race meet on some of the most popular national ADW platforms, including TwinSpires.com, XpressBet, and Youbet.

“The Fair Grounds meet was also made available to TVG, which unfortunately declined to accept the signal under the terms negotiated and approved by Louisiana horsemen.”

Details of the agreement were not disclosed.
